Armstrong's Admission:Too Little And Too Late

After years of denial and alienating friends, Lance Armstrong is now admitting what everyone else in the world knew; he cheated.....repeatedly. Even though Armstrong has contributed considerably to charitable causes, he will be mainly remembered for perpetuating a false image for so many years, winning by deceitful and illegal means. While his admission of guilt may serve to satisfy his own conscience, it will take some time before he can regain the trust of those he turned his back on.

With some prior acquaintances already saying that Armstrong’s confession has not provided a full disclosure, perhaps in an attempt to avoid certain legal liability, the partial admission of guilt may not be sufficient to receive widespread forgiveness.

According to Armstrong, and many others, it seems that cycling athletes are constantly trying to ‘beat the system’ by illegal means. While that may have been part of Armstrong’s personal justification for doing what he did, it doesn’t speak well of the cycling world.

From my perspective, Armstrong’s admission is best categorized as too little and too late.
