From my perspective, this expenditure is both unneeded
and ill-conceived. Canadians already know that Canada supports religious freedom.
As religious beliefs ought to be a personal and private matter, completely
detached from political interference both in organization and perception, the
government’s decision to proceed with this office is bound to create unwanted
problems. Governments have no business in religion, directly or indirectly.

Office Of Religious Freedom
As some Canadians struggle to balance their family budgets, the
Conservative government appears to have no problem incurring additional
expenditures associated with the establishment of a new and questionable office.
The newly created Office of Religious Freedom, a five person administrative
centre with a $5 million budget, will be responsible for “exporting the Canadian value of religious freedom” and whatever else
that statement entails.
