Common Sense Is Evaporating

Due to health concerns and the fact that many people have various types of allergies, most food products and in particular those with nuts, will have a notation on the label saying “Contains x”.  When you buy the food there will also be a list of ingredients along with the nutritional values. So far so good? Now, when you purchase peanut butter, usually labelled in bold lettering, the contents of ingredients normally starts with the word “peanuts” and you hope that there are peanuts in the product. Why then must they say under the category “contains” that there are peanuts? Are people that brainless or is this about manufacturers covering their butt? You don’t have to answer that one. With each passing year, the notion of a person using common sense is fast becoming a thing of the past. What a sad reality of modern life.
