If Canada Post is going to survive without government
interference they need to adjust to the reality of the day. With so many people using the internet/email,
regular mail is down to mainly junk.
Canada Post Financial Management 101: We should not have a double standard for
mail delivery and plans to phase out current home delivery service should
continue. With dwindling mail, delivery service should be cut to three days a week. Anyone wishing to have their
mail delivered to their home should pay a fee for that service. The preceding will allow Canada Post to stay
out of the red and perhaps direct any surplus revenue towards endeavours that
will ensure their longer term survivability.
