Apologies and Parades Losing Impact

If medals were given to those governments offering the most apologies, I believe our Liberals would receive the gold. They would probably also receive a gold medal for taking photo ops and group hugs to a whole new level. Rather than offer ongoing apologies for every actual and perceived wrongdoing, wouldn't it be more expeditious to simply offer one massive blanket apology to all Canadians. Prime Minister Trudeau could say something like this: "On behalf of the Government of Canada, we extend our sincerest apologies to everyone who may have at any time felt offended for anything done or not done, said or not said, given or not given, ignored or gazed at that may have affected anyone, living or dead. If that is not sufficient we will give everyone $1 million dollars, regardless if they were directly or indirectly affected. We will apologize every year just in case we offend anyone else."

Now, as far as group hugs are concerned, let's get Trudeau to wrap his arms around addressing what Canadians really need for a more prosperous life. I think most people have probably had enough of seeing their Prime Minister popping up in parades all over the country.
