The National Post is questioning the cost associated with the purchase and disposal of vehicles used at the recent G7 summit in Quebec.
Rather than focus on the $23M vehicle expense, and notwithstanding
Prime Minister Trudeau’s past comments in defending the cost for the G7 summit,
perhaps the emphasis should be on a closer analysis of the overall $600+M price
tag. Simply hearing the government state that the cost is worth it is not a
convincing explanation. Without providing an appropriate cost/benefit analysis Canadians
may continue to conclude that these G7 meetings are primarily a very expensive political
meet and greet social.
