While the Liberals may hope that debate about the budget will quickly overshadow the SNC-Lavalin controversy, the speculation about Prime Minister Trudeau’s role is likely to continue until there’s a full disclosure of what happened. As Canadians may understand and have a certain tolerance for the reasoning behind what is alleged to have happened, there is likely less acceptance for governments trying to cover up their mistakes. If the current government had been more forthright about this matter right from the start the issue may have already fallen to the backburner by now.
