The problems facing Prime Minister Stephen Harper as it
relates to the Senate shenanigans seems pale in comparison to those confronting
Toronto Mayor Rob Ford. While some Ottawa Senator hockey fans, and football fans
in 2014, may take pleasure in keeping the rivalry of our sporting teams as an
integral part of the competition, the same does not hold true for our mayoral representatives.
Even though Rob Ford may have brought some positive change to the City of Toronto
administration, his behaviour has been less than what citizens should expect
from the mayor of Canada’s largest city. With Ford refusing to resign and the
next election still one year away, Torontonians ought to prepare themselves for
more embarrassment as material for late-night television comedy.
