Orleans Health Hub.....Maybe?

Will the Orleans Family Health Hub happen in our lifetime? Although I did not read the latest Ontario Budget in its entirety, a brief review failed to disclose any information relating to the promised $130 million Orleans Family Health Hub. In January 2010, former Liberal MPP Phil McNeely and Mayor Jim Watson publically declared that the community of Orleans was going to have improved medical facilities, a mini-hospital, with a wide range out-patient programs and medical treatments. Online information from the Champlain LHIN 2014 summer update relating to this initiative indicates there are five different stages of project development before there are shovels in the ground. Apparently, this project is still at stage 1 and has been since Dec. 2012. As there's no mention of a target date for the completion of stage 5, that remains anyone's guess.
While an area off Mer Bleu Road has been designated as the "future site", as per the photo, the sign may soon be hidden from view. With a majority Liberal government now in place, they should be more straightforward regarding their intentions for the completion of the mini-hospital by identifying the funding that will be allocated over the coming fiscal years. The Liberals made this commitment 4.5 years ago and they now need to move forward from a vague promise about the future with specific financial commitments and a date for 'shovels to be in the ground'. If there is specific information about a timeline for completion, it should be communicated to the 100,000 residents that are waiting to see some visible progress.
