About three months ago I expressed some concern regarding Canada’s
federal Liberal priorities. It seemed that Justin Trudeau was placing more
emphasis on social issues rather than economic ones. While he may be addressing
both there continues to be an inordinate amount of attention being devoted to what
appears to be Trudeau’s personal agenda. Although group hugs, tearful apologies,
boasting he is a feminist and welcoming everyone from everywhere may be all
good stuff for his emotional well-being it would be nice to hear him be more
outspoken about what he is planning to do to help Canadians get jobs, education
and more-timely health care. The latter priorities are not getting the same
attention as those issues that seem to be Trudeau’s main concerns and they are
essential in ensuring Canadians can effectively compete in the ever-changing
world economy.
Right now, I would not be surprised if Trudeau may want to
replace the Canadian flag with one of the two options below.
