What Happened to Spring?

Environment Canada has issued a “Winter Storm Warning” for the Ottawa area advising of “A wintery combination of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain today. Periods of snow and ice pellets are expected to continue today accumulations of up to 10 to 15 centimetres are expected.”

Spring, according to the calendar however, arrived three weeks ago. With the winter season now closing in on 6 months perhaps we should consider abandoning the traditional seasonal names of summer, fall, winter and spring to only to two seasons cool/warm/cool and cold/freeze-your butt/ cold. This is really a bit much. I guess the good news is that it is going to warm up.........eventually........I hope.
