Toronto Star versus Mayor
If you have been following the news in Canada, you must have
heard about the questionable, if not outright fraudulent, expense claims submitted
by certain Senators. At the municipal level, we have Toronto’s outspoken mayor,
Rob Ford, trying to stickhandle around allegations about his involvement with
drugs. While the senate attempts to deal with their problems with a level of respectability
befitting their roles, Rob Ford on the other hand has opted to attack those
that brought exposure to his shenanigans by referring to reporters as maggots. The
media, specifically the Toronto Star, have had an ongoing acrimonious
connection with Ford. Here’s their latest response to being called
maggots. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/05/27/brothers_ford_rushed_headlong_into_a_public_spectacle_of_venom_and_bile_dimanno.html
