Option Resign

When some people believe that most politicians are in it for themselves, the events of the past few weeks make it difficult to convince them otherwise. From municipal to provincial to federal politics, there is no shortage of questionable and/or criminal shenanigans by our elected and appointed public representatives to keep Canadians wondering about the integrity of those who claim they want to serve the public and not themselves.

From the cloud hanging over some so-called honourable members of the senate to the disgrace enveloping the mayors of Canada’s two largest cities, Canadians have good reason to be disgusted with the conduct of those who claim to represent the public interest. To make matters worse and faced with a mountain of evidence, those who bring embarrassment to public office often fail to overlook the obvious option of trying to seek forgiveness for their conduct by tendering their resignation.
