Harper Does Not Know When To Walk Away

There's only one person that has to be held accountable for the Conservative drop in the polls and that is Stephen Harper. Although Harper has provided a good leadership on a number of issues, all politicians have a best-before-date. When Harper could have left on a high note, he opted to hang in for reasons only he may know. He could have easily signaled it was time for a change in leadership allowing a new leader to distance himself from the stench emanating from the Duffy affair. While many Canadians may be connected to the Conservative approach to governance, there are those that want to see change in leaders and that may be the driving force for the drop in the polls.

At this point in time, most bets are on a minority government. Regardless of who forms a minority, Harper's time will be up. As those lyrics from "The Gambler" go....." You got to know when to walk away, know when to run." Rather than having left riding the wave and walking away, Harper's exit may be on the run.
