Duffy Trial Neck Pain

Thankfully, the 'poor me' Mike Duffy saga is finally nearing a conclusion. Having been forced to endure eight days of testimony listening to absurd explanations from Duffy, Judge Charles Vaillancourt must be commended for his great patience. While some of us that followed this trial may have sore necks from shaking our heads in disbelief over some of the less than credible explanations, the pain will soon pass. Although the prosecution has done an excellent job in pointing out the alleged swindler aspect of Duffy's conduct, defence arguments have provided some weight, no pun intended, to Duffy's alleged gullibility. No matter what Judge Vaillancourt ultimately decides, this case has certainly established the needed conditions to ramp up the scrutiny and background investigation of those being considered for appointment to the Senate.
