Canada's Futile NDP

The NDP now wish to file a motion saying the government misled Canadians about changing the election process. They are apparently also toying with the idea of going after the Liberals regarding their refusal to condemn U.S. Pres. Donald Trump for his refugee ban. Do most Canadians think that is the most important priority right now? I would doubt that.

While the NDP may be trying to ensure they remain a relevant opposition party, considering their connection to labour and instead of prolonging the agony of keeping attention on election reform, they would be more effective in spending their time challenging the government on other matters, particularly job creation. Let's forget about those issues that are primarily intended to humiliate and focus on those matters that directly impact the well-being of Canadians; economy, health, education and defence.

Opposition parties need to demonstrate they are an alternative to government. Spending most of their time trying to shame the government, rather than offering constructive contributions, is one sure way to stay in opposition. Perhaps, that is where they are the most comfortable.
