Taxpayers On Hook For Billions

The following is from the CBC website:  "The Liberal government has quietly written off a $2.6-billion auto-sector loan that was cobbled together to save Chrysler during the 2009 global economic meltdown." 

Even though the obvious question may be “why”, the Canadian government’s likely has a story regarding protecting jobs etc. As the government tries to stick-handle around this embarrassment, the Canadian taxpayer is on the hook for covering the billions owing. However, if that same taxpayer owes the government money, the latter will be relentless in pursuing recovery for all that is owing.
