Here’s the thing. Canadian
household debt has gone through the roof. Here’s a clip from a CBC report; “Household debt levels in Canada are higher
than those in any country included in a new OECD report, and the
organization says it's a major risk to the country's economy.” (OECD is the Organization for Economic
Co-operation and Development).
With that in mind, a concern the
government must already know, one would expect that the government may
want to set an example linking spending with affordability rather than be
spending money like a drunken sailor. (no offence James). Commentary and photography on a wide range of topics for the purpose of stimulating thought and discussion as well as providing a temporary diversion, informative and/or entertaining, from the daily routine. db

Feds: Drunken Sailors!
Who would spend $4.6 million on a
skating rink that was to be used for only a couple of months and then removed?
How about the Trudeau government? Fine, it is Canada’s 150th
birthday and the government thinks Canadians, more specifically the locals in
Ottawa and perhaps a few visitors, would like to say they skated on Parliament
Hill. Never mind that the Rideau Canal, “the world’s largest skating rink”, is
only a few hundred metres away. Let’s spend a few million, after all it is your
taxes at work.
