Notwithstanding the election outcome benefits that some Canadian politicians appear to enjoy for their support of one universal healthcare system, healthcare options need to expand. Embracing a more-encompassing healthcare system is not a rejection of what Canadians now have. It seems that every time someone mentions the words “two-tiered” it conjures up images of a doomsday conclusion by those diehard advocates of the one-option should fit all. Universal healthcare can also infer comprehensive healthcare. A broader healthcare system will create conditions that will take some of the pressure off from what is currently being experienced in our hospital emergency rooms. Below is a sign we will never see in Canada until our approach to healthcare offers more acceptable alternatives.
