Gay Pride Parades Are Foolish

City of Ottawa officials, including the fire department, are once again stretching the boundaries of political correctness as they feel obligated to publicly acknowledge their support for the annual gay pride festivities, and its gaudy parade. While I believe most gay people want to live their lives as anyone else, there are those that seem to derive some type of bizarre satisfaction by dressing up in garish clothing that has one purpose, to seek attention. Grow up people and try living like mature adults. From my perspective, these ridiculous parades do more harm than good for any poor perceptions people may have of the gay population.
