The spring equinox, the first official day of spring, is two
days from now. By March 20th one would expect winter to be winding
down, particularly when we received our first taste of snow last November, a
month before the official start of winter! Enough is enough, right? Well, if
you believe the weather forecasters we (Ottawa residents) could be faced with
another 15 to 25 cm’s between now and Wednesday. Last year, some area people were already playing golf by now. This year, the snow banks on the side streets are still several feet high. And here I thought that with
all this talk of climate change and warming weather patterns winter would in
fact be shorter and milder. How about longer and colder winters with more snow as a bonus? Climate change, I don't think so.
