Duffy Saga

The information provided by Donald Bayne, Senator Mike Duffy’s lawyer, to the media regarding the role of the PMO reaffirms the need for an independent review. During Question Period yesterday, Prime Minister Harper failed to directly answer questions aimed at his role in the Duffy-PMO exchanges, opting to dump everything on the lap of Nigel Wright, Harper’s former chief-of-staff.

As long as there continues to be more questions than answers, our political representatives must be more forthright in providing the required explanation of what exactly transpired between those in the senate and the PMO. In order for Mr. Harper to maintain his credibility with Canadians he must signal that he supports a full and transparent review. His continued stick-handling around the issue merely reinforces the thinking that he has something to hide.
