Julie Payette Divorce Under Media Scrutiny

Six Canadian media organizations have been actively trying to access Julie Payette’s divorce proceedings. While Payette initially blocked the media’s requested access, she has now dropped her legal battle to keep the court records sealed. From my perspective, it is unfortunate the media feel there is a need to delve into Payette’s divorce documentation. Is this a fishing trip or is the media seeking to corroborate other information they may already have?  Hopefully, the government’s vetting process, particularly when it was for a new governor general, was an all-inclusive process that left no stone unturned.
