Is Trudeau The Right Leader?

This past January and in response to a question regarding the extradition of Meng Wanzhou, Prime Minister Trudeau stated “we are country of rule and law”. This principle seems to have been set aside in the expulsion of Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott from the Liberal caucus. Even though Trudeau may have been trying to take the heat with his “it was my decision” comment, it also suggested a ‘my way or the highway’ style of governance.

Between the preceding and Trudeau’s problematically trusting approach in conducting affairs with China, his leadership abilities are justifiably being questioned. As ‘sunny ways’ evolves to more cloudy days and as other catchphrases start to lose their significance, the results of the October federal election may be shaping up to be a vote on confidence in Trudeau’s ability to deliver on those issues that matter most to Canadians.
