Justin Trudeau Lustre Fading
There’s an increasing consensus that Prime Minister Trudeau’s
recent visit to India was not exactly a tremendous success. A comparison made between
Trudeau’s trip and that of France’s President Macron gives emphasis to the
thinking that Trudeau’s visit lacked in planning. Either Trudeau is not getting
the needed advice or he is making some decisions on his own. These gaffes
do little to help Canada’s standing on the world stage, not that too many other
countries even care. With Canada’s turn to host the G7 meeting not too far
away, the PMO will hopefully use the opportunity to focus the dialogue on
issues that matter to a broader cross-section of Canadians as well as those
from other countries. While not to minimize the importance of those social
issues that are close to Trudeau’s heart, the G7 heads-of-state will likely
have economic prosperity and security for their homelands as primary
objectives. And please Mr. Trudeau, wear a business suit.
